Danish Jobless Rate Stable In March

Denmark's unemployment rate remained unchanged from the previous month in March, data released by Statistics Denmark showed Thursday.

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for March was 6.2 percent, which matched the figure for February. In January and December, the jobless rate was 6.1 percent.

The number of unemployed persons in the country decreased to around 161,800 in March from about 162,400 in the previous month.

The jobless rate among youth, aged between 16 and 24 years, was 5.4 percent in March, higher than 5.3 percent recorded in the previous month. The number of unemployed youth, meanwhile, remained almost unchanged during the month.

At 9.8 percent, the unemployment rate of persons aged between 25 and 29 was the highest among all categories, the agency said.
