Iron Maiden might be returning to radio airwaves soon with more radio friendly singles, according to guitarist Adrian Smith, who told VH1's That Metal Show that the band is looking at working on shorter songs after recording a series of lengthy tracks.
"They did some great singles - put things into three minutes, which is a difficult thing to do, but it can be done," Smith said. "We've been writing longer for some reason. Maybe next time we'll do some shorter stuff - but it's difficult to look into the future too far."
Smith said that he has long admired the way Jimi Hendrix, Free and Thin Lizzy produced three-minute radio friendly songs.
He also said that he has no problem with frontman Bruce Dickinson piloting any plane he is on.
"Anything he does, he gets right into it and he does it really well. And he does it for a living, it's not like he does it as a hobby," he said. "I've seen him check out flight plans, literally just before a gig."
