VINCI Energies (VCISY.PK) has entered into a deal to acquire Swiss company Alpiq's division, Energieversorgungstechnik or EVT, that groups together its energy and telecommunications infrastructure engineering and installation activities in Germany and Central Europe. VINCI Energies, through this acquisition, strengthens its operations in its second largest market Germany.
Germany-based EVT, with 3,000 employees, has been operating in Central Europe for nearly 15 years through local subsidiaries. EVT generated revenue of 512 million euros and EBITDA of 37 million euros in 2011.
The EVT acquisition is based on an equity value of 195 million euros and estimated liabilities of 45 million euros. The transaction has been submitted for approval by the relevant competition authorities and may be finalised during the 2012 third quarter.
