Jill Scott has a released the video for "Blessed," a song taken off of her latest album The Light of the Sun. Scott directed the video herself, in which she finds happiness in her daily life, whether she's in the studio, at home with her husband and son, or chilling with her girlfriends.
"This record spoke to me as an inspiration for myself and for others to remember to count your personal blessings every day," Scott told Rap-Up. "The money, cars, trophies can all disappear immediately. It's about what's happening in your life like your family, friends, and health."
"Blessed" is the third single to be taken off Scott's 2011 number one album The Light of the Sun, following lead single "So in Love" and "So Gone (What My Mind Says)."
Scott will perform on VH1 Storytellers on May 21.
