Sean Penn recently received the 2012 Peace Summit Award in Chicago this past Wednesday. The actor was given the accolade for all the generosity and assistance he has provided to Haiti after the earthquake in January 2010.

"It's an overused phrase, I know, but I trust you know its genuine today, I am humbled. I'm trembling and I like it," Penn said standing onstage next to the Dalai Lama and former Polish President Lech Walesa.

Since Penn decided to help out with the cause in Haiti he has become the first non-Haitian to be given the title as an ambassador-at-large for Haitian President Michel Martelly. He is also the CEO of the J/P Haitian Relief Organization, which is a group that supervises two camps that serve as homes for 18,000 people who were affected by the earthquake.
