The Beach Boys kicked off their five-month, 56-date tour this week at Casino del Sol on the Yaqui reservation in Boston this week.
The boys were joined onstage by a dozen instrumentalists and vocalists as they performed a number of songs by Phil Spector, Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers, and The Mamas and the Papas, among others, while images of the band during their glory days were shown across a giant screen that served as the band's onstage backdrop. Among the bevy of songs the band performed were "Little Honda," "Catch a Wave," "Why Do Fools Fall in Love," "Sloop John B" and "Wouldn't It Be Nice."
The Beach Boys are touring for the first time in decades with co-founders Brian Wilson, Mike Love and Al Jardine, as well as longtime voice Bruce Johnston and early member David Marks.
