Portugal's industrial production decreased further in March, though at a slower rate, data released by Statistics Portugal showed Monday.
Industrial production decreased 5.8 percent on an annual basis in March, slower than the previous month's 7.2 percent fall.
Production in the manufacturing industry decreased 3.3 percent annually, while mining and quarrying production advanced 6.7 percent. There was a 19.3 percent annual fall in the output of energy products during the month.
On a monthly basis, industrial output moved up 2.3 percent in March, markedly faster than the 0.5 percent rise seen in the previous month.
