Following the release of Canada's gross domestic product data for February at 8:30 am ET, the Canadian dollar edged sharply lower against its major opponents. As of 8:33 am ET, the loonie was trading at 1.3031 against the euro, 0.9861 against the US dollar and 81.20 versus the yen.
