Sugarland invited 11-year-old Alana Springsteen onstage last week during a stop on the duo's In Your Hands tour. The aspiring singer/songwriter had been in Nashville on business and took the stage confidently, she recounted:
"[They] said you have the opportunity to sing 'Baby Girl' with us, are you ready? And I said yes! I'm totally ready."
Alana's parents were shocked by their daughter's ability to work the crowd:
"As soon as the first verse got done it was like, 'I got this stage!'," father David Springsteen said. "She was walking around, flipping her hair, and I was like, 'what is going on?'"
"Alana is an old soul, who is way beyond her years. Like so many of the great iconic singers before her, Alana grew up singing in church. Her career in music started at the tender age of 8 when Alana performed before 4000+ fans at Harbor Park for the Norfolk Tides . . ." says the bio on Alana's official website.
