Butch Vig Says Kurt Cobain Was Not Working On Solo Album

Nirvana producer Butch Vig has rebuffed Hole guitarist Eric Erlandson's claim that Kurt Cobain was working on a solo album at the time of his death.

Speaking with NME, Vig says that Cobain had written some new songs, but they were far from developed:

"He was working on songs, but they were just in his head. He might have just played some songs to Eric . . ."

Erlandson made headlines earlier this month when he said that Cobain's new material would have been his own version of the Beatle's famed White Album.

According to Vig, however, Kurt was more interested in his wife Courtney Love's new album at that time.

"Around that time period he only wanted to talk about Courtney's album," he added. "I never heard any of his new songs."
