Martin Lawrence has filed for divorce from his wife of nearly two years, Shamicka Lawrence. Martin cited irreconcilable differences in his court filing.
The pair were married in July of 2010 after dating for 15 years prior. They have two daughters ages 9 and 11. In late April, the two announced that they had made a "joint decision to part ways."
"Out of love and respect for one another we will continue to remain friends and raise our two beautiful daughters together," they added in a statement released by Lawrence's rep.
Lawrence recently shot a sitcom pilot for CBS and wrapped a national stand-up tour. The sitcom will feature Lawrence as Ray, a former construction worker who decides to pursue a career in the police force.
