Akon has released the video for his single "Hurt Somebody," from his forthcoming album Stadium. The track and vid feature a spot from Bad Boy rapper French Montana.
The video features Akon getting into a street fight; the rapper explained the concept on BET's 106 & Park:
"It's really to promote non-gun violence. If you got a problem with somebody, ya'll should just take it in the ring. We men, let's handle it. If we can't talk about it, then let's fight about it."
Montana was previously signed to Akon's Konvict Muzik label, and Akon notes that he has gotten grittier since Montana left:
"At the time where I had him, I was just too focused on the pop stuff."
Stadium, the first single off of which was 2010's "Angel," is due September 11.
