Comic Louis C.K. and musician Bjork took home top honors at this week's Webby Awards. The event, presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, recognized the pair on Tuesday for their use of digital media to release their latest efforts.
Louis C.K. was named Person of the Year at the event for the release of his new comedy album "Live at the Beach Theater." He offered the release directly to fans through his website at a low price of $5. The album's success sparked a trend of self-released comedy albums followed by Aziz Ansari and Jim Gaffigan.
Bjork took home the Artist of the Year award for her latest release "Biophilia." The work is a multi-media offering that blends a music album with an interactive app made for use on mobile devices.
Other top honors went to photo sharing app Instagram, which was recently acquired by Facebook for $1 billion. Pinterest was also recognized as a breakout favorite this year.
