Rexam Says Results In Line With Expectations - Quick Facts

5/3/2012 2:34 AM ET

Rexam Plc (REXMY.PK,REX.L) provided its interim management statement for the period from January 1, 2012.

The company noted that results for the Group are in line with its expectations, and that its financial position is largely unchanged from that at December 31, 2011.

Performance in Beverage Cans is in line with Rexam's plans. Volumes in the company's European business were driven by good growth in Western Europe and specialty cans partly offset by Russia where it saw a strong performance in the first quarter of last year. In North America, Rexam saw continued good performance in specialty cans and the expected recovery of some of the standard can volumes lost in 2011, while the business in South America showed slight year on year volume growth.
