Egencia, an Expedia Inc. (EXPE) company, said it has completed the acquisition of Nordic travel management company, VIA Travel. VIA Travel is now named VIA Egencia. Christophe Peymirat, Senior Vice President, Egencia EMEA, APAC, noted, "With the acquisition of VIA Travel, Egencia is positioned to push the boundaries of the business travel industry, and to better serve our customers today and tomorrow."
Folowing this purchase, Egencia now has a presence in over 50 countries across the globe and would leverage the power of both companies to accelerate its pace of technology innovation in the years to come. The acquisition closed April 27, 2012. Additional terms were not disclosed.
