Gotye Planning More 'Traditional' Follow-Up To Making Mirrors

Despite the success of his third album Making Mirrors, Gotye isn't slowing down, as the singer is already talking about plans for a follow-up, telling NME he wants to make a "more traditional" record this time round.

"I can't put a timeline on it. But I do know that I'd like to do a more traditional record, focusing more on chords and harmonies and things like that. I'd like to collaborate more with people and make more use of my band, rather than just me working on my own."

Gotye, real name Wouter De Backer, also said that he doubts the success of Making Mirrors, and lead single "Somebody That I Used to Know," would affect the way he works.

"[The recording budget will] be driven by the music, that's all. The success of this album means I might allow myself a bigger budget, but I don't think more money would be a big benefit to my music."
