Alicia Keys is working with indie act Bon Iver on a new track. The R&B star reportedly flew out to the Wisconsin town of Fall Creek--which has a population just over 1,000—to meet with Bon Iver's Justin Vernon.
Despite the unexpected teaming up of these two singers from different genres, Vernon told Vibe magazine that the collaboration isn't as surprising as some may think:
"It's easy to see the pop world trying to take over Alicia. But I see her as someone who is desperately trying to stay on the far left hand of that. She really cares about music and she knows everything. It's cool to see her in her spot, doing something different."
No word yet on what the two recorded or if it will be released on a Bon Iver or an Alisha Keys album--or in some other way.
