Flo Rida was served a legal notice via his Facebook account. The Fat as Butter music festival filed a suit against the rapper for failing to perform at their event last summer despite being paid. The fest is now asking for their $56,000 back.
A lawyer for the festival promoter, Mothership Music, was granted permission to serve Flo through the social networking site:
"Our process server tried arranging meetings with his agents and attended appearances in Melbourne - but due to his large entourage and security, we were unable to serve him personally," the lawyer told Sydney's Daily Telegraph.
It is not the first time an Australian court has allowed the procedure to be done online. Earlier in the year a judge allowed legal notice to be served to a couple to tell them they'd lost their home over Facebook.
