The 1970s band will be honored at London's Barbican on May 28. The musicians on hand, along with Big Star's only surviving member Jody Stephens, will perform the band's third album, Sister Lovers, in its entirety.

Chris Stamey, a former collaborator with the late Alex Chilton of Big Star, will also be performing on the evening. Of the show he told NME:

"We've created a concert piece that will have a life in years to come, trying to keep the spirit of the music and make it come across with the right emotions live. There's something about this record that connects across generations."
