An upcoming fundraising dinner hosted by George Clooney for president Obama's reelection campaign could bring in as much as $12 million. Reps from the campaign shared their projections with hollywoodreporter.com and say the event will be packed with Hollywood stars.
Tickets for the dinner ran a hefty $40,000 and confirmed attendees including film studio execs and celebrities. The event will be held at Clooney's home in Studio City on May 10 and tickets moved so quickly that organizers had to limit entry to those living in Southern California. Organizers expect total contributions from the attendees to top $6 million with another $6 million coming in online donations.
The event at Clooney's home is being organized by DreamWorks Animation chief Jeffrey Katzenberg as well as Hollywood political coordinator Andy Spahn. The event is just one of several fund raising trips planned for the president in California this summer, as he'll also appear at an LGBT gala event in Los Angeles in June.
