KISS, Steven Tyler and former Guns N' Roses drummer Matt Sorum have appeared in a public service announcement which advocates funding for arts programs in public schools.

The organization which they are all supporting, Adopt the Arts, was founded in response to a Los Angeles Unified School District that was going to eliminate all funding for elementary school arts programs.

Sorum's mother, a music teacher, helped him realize the importance of music and arts programs he says.

According to Adopt the Arts mission statement, their goal is to raise awareness:

"We believe that it is morally and ethically incumbent upon us to foster the creativity, dreams, hopes, and imaginations of our children. Adopt the Arts Foundation is dedicated to improving the academic performance of every child through the gift of making art and music to our public school students."
