Clean Energy Fuels Q1 Loss Narrows

Clean Energy Fuels Corp. (CLNE: Quote) reported first-quarter net loss attributable to the company of $9.8 million or $0.14 per share, narrower than $31.9 million or $0.37 per share last year.

Adjusted loss for the quarter narrowed to $3.4 million or $0.05 per share from $14.1 million or $0.16 per share in the comparable quarter last year. On average, nine analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report a loss of $0.17 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Total revenues for the quarter were $65.34 million, compared with $73.63 million last year, while eight analysts expected revenues of $81.66 million for the quarter.

After reporting a sharp drop in new orders for manufactured durable goods in the previous month, the Commerce Department released a report on Friday showing that durable goods orders rebounded by more than anticipated in the month of April. The report said durable goods orders surged up by 3.3 percent in April after tumbling by a revised 5.9 percent in March.
