Ameresco, Inc. (AMRC) said its first-quarter net income fell to $1.5 million or $0.03 per share from $5.3 million or $0.12 per share in the year-ago quarter.
Total revenue of $146.6 million was flat when compared to $146.4 million for the same period in 2011.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.09 per share on revenues of $145.78 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
For the fiscal year ending December 31, 2012, the company still expects total revenue to be in the range of $800 million to $825 million and net income to be in the range of $39.5 million to $42.5 million. Analysts expect the company to earn $0.88 per share on revenues of $803.26 million for the year.
