Wolfgang van Halen, son to Eddie van Halen and current Van Halen bassist, says that he has every intention of carrying on the band's legacy after brothers Alex and Eddie retire.

"It kind of falls on my shoulders," he tells Esquire.

He added that he and his pops often come up with new material by "jamming . . . instead of him writing something."

"I kind of come up with the set lists. When we've got a song that we haven't done, it's like, we should probably run through this before the show and figure out like the count of it. Because dad, for some reason, counts in odds. He'll land on three instead of four," Wolfgang continued regarding his touring duties.

Wolfgang has been holding down the low end for the legendary act since 2007.
