A Ross Halfin photo print of Jimmy Page will be archived at the National Portrait Gallery in London; it is the 100,000th portrait to receive the honor.
The photograph forms part of a limited edition portfolio of five prints signed by Jimmy Page and each respective photographer: Jorgen Angel in Copenhagen 1970, Dick Barnatt at Earls Court Arena 1975, Neal Preston at Chicago Stadium 1977 and Baron Wolman at Oakland Coliseum, California 1977. The Halfin print was taken in 2009. It is black and white and features the legendary Led Zeppelin axeman smiling and holding his signature Gibson Les Paul.
The National Portrait Gallery began digitizing their collection in 1996 to make their portraits more readily available. It also allows portraits not fit for scanning to be made available online.
