During New York afternoon trading on Friday, the British currency extended its morning session's downtrend against the euro and the Swiss franc. The sterling dropped to new multi-day lows of 0.8051 against the euro and 1.4925 versus the franc at around 12:05 pm ET, compared to yesterday's close of 0.8014 and 1.4996, respectively.
