Willie Nelson Turns Down Roseanne Barr As Presidential Running Mate

Willie Nelson Turns Down Roseanne Barr As Presidential Running Mate
5/12/2012 1:50 PM ET

Following little speculation or attention, Willie Nelson has turned town an offer from Roseanne Barr to become her running mate in the upcoming presidential election. Barr has her sights currently set upon obtaining the nomination of the Green Party.

Nelson's curt response to Barr's offer was sent via Twitter:

"Thank you but no thank you. Good luck to you!," Willie graciously replied.

"My Vice President will be announced at the debate in San Francisco this Saturday. I want Willie Nelson as Vice President," Barr had previously written on Twitter.

Barr has raised over $31,000 ($25,00 of which came from a loan by her to her campaign) for her presidential bid. The money, she said, went to her staff:

"FEC rules limit what one can contribute to one's own campaign, but staff needs to be paid."
