Aretha Franklin is set to be inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame at a ceremony on August 14 in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
The Queen of Soul will share the induction with five other acts who will receive the same honor, being Ricky Skaggs, the Hoppers, Dallas Holm, Rex Humbard and Love Song. All of these artists will be joining previous inductees of the Gospel Music Hall of Fame; Dolly Parton and Elvis.
Franklin's 1972 album, Amazing Grace, is recognized as one of the best selling gospel albums, as it sold over 2 million copies worldwide. Her latest record, A Woman Falling Out Of Love, was released last year.
At the beginning of the year Franklin had announced her engagement to longtime friend William 'Willie' Wilkerson, but unfortunately called of the engagement when she said she thought things were, "moving a little too fast."
