Beastie Boys Album Sales Rise After Adam 'MCA' Yauch's Death

Beastie Boys album sales have recently skyrocketed after Adam "MCA" Yauch's death on Friday May, 4, Billboard reports.

The week of Yauch's death the hip hop trio sold 55,000 albums, up from only 4,000 the week before, which comes out to be a 1,235 per cent increase in sales.

Being the first rap album to ever appear on the Billboard 200 chart, Licensed To Ill has touched down once more on the list at number 18 after selling 19,000 copies. The group's other albums, Paul's Boutique, Hot Sauce Committee Part Two, Ill Communication, Check Your Head and Beastie Boys Anthology: The Sounds of Science have also been placed back on the Billboard 200 chart.

The hip hop group also sold 151,000 downloads last week compared to the 14,000 they sold the week before, which gave them a 949 per cent gain.
