Gainers:

Avon Products, Inc. (AVP) is up over 6 percent to $21.40. The company said it plans to consider Coty Inc.'s sweetened takeover offer of $24.75 per share and plans to respond within a week.

Yahoo! Inc. (YHOO) is rising 2 percent to $15.53. The company announced that its Chief Executive Officer Scott Thompson has resigned from the position and as a director of the company, as he was found to have embellished his academic credentials.

Francesca's Holdings Corp. (FRAN) is up more than 6 percent to $25.60. The company announced that it has terminated for cause the employment of Chief Financial Officer Gene Morphis. The company said it has found that he improperly communicated company information through social media. At the same time, the company also raised its first quarter earnings per diluted share guidance.

Chesapeake Energy Corp. (CHK) is gaining 5 percent to $15.52. There are reports that Carl Icahn will be disclosing his stake in the company.

Arena Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (ARNA) is up 3 percent to $6.58.

Decliners:

JPMorgan Chase & Co.'s (JPM) is down 1 percent to $36.60. There are reports that three high-ranking executives at the company's chief investment office are expected to leave the company as early as Monday after the bank's recent disclosure about a trading loss of $2 billion.

Ancestry.com Inc. (ACOM) is falling 14 percent to $22.49. The company announced NBC's decision not to renew the 'Who Do You Think You Are?' television series for a fourth season.

Trading halt:

Trading in shares of Golfsmith International Holdings Inc. (GOLF) was halted. Golf Town has agreed to acquire the company for $6.10 per share in cash.
