TSX Flat At Open Wednesday

Bay Street stocks were little changed at open Wednesday amid marginal buying in commodities, with the S&P/TSX Composite Index edging up 4.37 points or 0.04 percent to 11,347.42.

The Diversified Materials Index added over 1 percent, with First Quantum Minerals (FM.TO) rising nearly 4 percent. Inmet Mining (IMN.TO) and Teck Resources (TCK_B.TO) were up around 2 percent each.

In the oil patch, Pacific Rubiales Energy (PRE.TO), Vermilion Energy (VET.TO) and Ecopetrol (ECP.TO) moved up over 1 percent each.

Among gold plays, Agnico-Eagle Mines (AEM.TO), Barrick Gold (ABX.TO) and Goldcorp. (G.TO) gathered over 1 percent each.

Meanwhile, Centerra Gold (CG.TO) dived over 4 percent, while Alacer Gold (ASR.TO) was shedding over 5 percent.
