The new Joey Ramone compilation, . . . Ya Know?, is currently streaming freely online well ahead of its Monday, May 21 release date.
The comp was produced by Ramones collaborators Ed Stasium and Jean Beauvoir, and the material on it comes from unreleased demos that were recorded back in 2001, the year that Ramone passed away of lymphoma.
Musicians who pitched in to help finish the album include Joan Jett, Steven Van Zandt, Richie Ramone, Bun E. Carlos of Cheap Trick, Dennis Diken of the Smithereens, and Joey Ramone's brother Mickey Leigh.
The songs on the LP were written by Ramone from 1977 to 2000 and include two tracks previously recorded by the Ramones: "Merry Christmas (I Don't Want to Fight Tonight)" and "Life's a Gas."
