Mark Zuckerberg, founder and chief executive of Facebook Inc. (FB: Quote), married long-time girl friend Priscilla Chan, thus ending a busy week that saw the stock market debut of the social networking giant.
The marriage to Chan, 27, was conducted at Zuckerberg's home in Palo Alto, California. Zuckerberg, who turned 28 this week, apparently designed the wedding ring, which was a "simple ruby."
Chan graduated from medical school on Monday and the guests were under the impression that they were going to Zuckerberg's home to celebrate her graduation.
The couple met at Harvard nine years ago and later moved to California, where Facebook is head-quartered.
Facebook's IPO, the largest ever for an internet company, raised $16 billion, giving it a market valuation of $104 billion, higher than that of Yahoo, Dell, Cisco, Visa, Amazon.com and HP.
The stock opened at $42.05 on Friday, about 11 percent higher than the listing price of $38, and moved in a range of $38.00 - $45.00 before closing at $38.23 on a volume of 580.59 million shares.
