Taylor Swift took home the Woman of the Year award at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, May 20.
"The first time I ever saw my song on the Billboard charts, I was 16 and I was on a radio tour . . . in a rental car, going to three or four different stations a day and homeschooling in the back seat," Taylor reminisced while accepting the award.
"That seems like forever ago, thanks to so many people -- but mostly my family, everyone who's helped me get here and the fans. I just love you so much! I'm so humbled and honored," she added.
Swift was presented the award by Zooey Deschanel and Kris Kristofferson, whom she thanked via Twitter after the ceremony:
"Billboard Awards. So much dancing. Thank you @ZooeyDeschaneland Kris Kristofferson for presenting me Woman of the Year. THISISFUN!!! I just love you guys a lot."
