Scotty McCreery takes the stage for the season 11 finale of American Idol on Tuesday, May 22. The season 10 winner will play his track "Please Remember Me," which he recorded as the "goodbye song" to be played as eliminated contestants are jettisoned from the competition.
"I am so excited about going back to American Idol and seeing everyone again," he said in a statement.
"I hope to spend some time with the finalists, Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez, and share some of my experiences with them. I can't believe that it's been a year since I was in their shoes."
McCreery returns to Idol on the following day (5/23) to help celebrate the winner.
At the end of March, the rising star debuted his track "Water Tower Town," on the program.
American Idol airs at 8 p.m. EST on FOX.
