Michael Baker Jr. Inc., an engineering unit of Michael Baker Corp. (BKR: Quote), said it has been awarded a contract by the Colorado Department of Transportation or CDOT to provide design services for its US 36 Express Lanes/BRT Design-Build project located in Broomfield, Colo., between Denver and Boulder. HDR, Inc. (Omaha, Neb.), is lead designer on the project. The total value of the Ames/Granite JV design-build contract is $231 million.
