Power Finance Corporation Ltd. posted fourth-quarter stand-alone net profit of Rs.818.30 crore, up by 35 percent from the Rs.607.53 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2011. On a per share basis, earnings per share increased by 17 percent to Rs.6.20 from the Rs.5.29 in Q4FY11.
Net income from operations for the quarter increased by 41 percent to Rs.3,677.98 crore from Rs.2,609.15 crore in the year-ago quarter, while other operating income stood at Rs.4.95 crore, compared with Rs.8.20 crore in the year-ago quarter.
For the full year, its stand-alone net profit grew by 16 percent to Rs.3,031.74 crore from the Rs.2,619.58 crore in 2011. Total income, including other operating income, was Rs.13,014.85 crore, up by 28 percent from the Rs.10,128.49 crore a year-ago.
On a consolidated basis, its net profit for the fiscal year rose by 16 percent to Rs.3,058.85 crore from the Rs.2,647.12 crore in 2011. Total income, including other operating income, grew by 28 percent to Rs.13,072.17 crore from the Rs.10,174.95 crore in FY11.
The company's board recommended a final dividend of Re.1.00 per equity share of Rs.10 each for the fiscal year 2012, to be within 30 days from the date of AGM.
At the BSE, Power Finance Corporation shares are currently trading at Rs.150.50, up 1.55 percent from the previous close.
