Guinness World Records has recognised Tameer's Princess Tower in Dubai as the world's tallest residential building. Located in the Dubai Marina, a man-made canal overlooking the Gulf, it measures 414 meters from base to tip.
The tower is near The Palm Jumeirah, the world's largest man-made island, and the 160-storey Burj Khalifah, the world's tallest building, which is 828 meters high. The Emirates Golf Club, The American University and Jebel Ali are also easily accessible from the Princess Tower. Construction of the tower began in 2005 and ended earlier this year. It is estimated to have cost around $210 million.
The tower, topped with a crown, is 107 storeys tall, with six basement floors, one ground floor and 100 above ground levels. It occupies an area of 37,410 square feet and houses 763 luxury apartments. Along with the usual amenities like swimming pools, a gymnasium, a children's day care nursery, a sauna club and 8 retail stores, the tower also has a mosque for the exclusive use of its residents.
