Computer and printer maker Hewlett-Packard Co. (HPQ: Quote) is expected to report results for the second quarter. The company is expected to earn $0.91 per share on revenues of $29.92 billion. In the year-ago quarter, the company reported earnings of $1.24 per share on revenues of $31.63 billion. The shares closed Tuesday at $21.78. (The stock declined about 7% in Q2; MA(50)- $23.80; MA(100)- $25.51; 52-wk H/L $37.70/$21.28)

Pandora Media, Inc. (P: Quote) is scheduled to report first-quarter results. The internet radio company is expected to post a loss of $0.18 per share on revenues of $74.34 million for the quarter. P closed trade on Tuesday at $9.98. (The stock gained nearly 2% in Q1; MA(50)- $9.55; MA(100)- $11.07; 52-wk H/L $26/$7.83)

American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. (AEO: Quote) will report first-quarter results today. Earnings of the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based teen clothing retailer are expected to increase to $0.20 per share from $0.14 per share reported a year earlier, while quarterly revenues are anticipated to rise to $719.99 million from last year's $609.56 million. The company's stock closed Tuesday's session at $19.79. (The stock rose almost 13% in Q1; MA(50)- $17.96; MA(100)- $16.08; 52-wk H/L $21.13/$10.00)

Zale Corp. (ZLC: Quote) is slated to report results for the third quarter. The company is expected to report a loss of $0.16 per share versus loss of $0.43 per share last year, with revenues estimated at $433.88 million. The stock closed Tuesday at $2.33. (The stock down about 19% in Q3; MA(50)- $2.79; MA(100)- $2.97; 52-wk H/L $6.90/$2.06)

Apparel maker PVH Corp. (PVH: Quote) is expected to post first-quarter results. Earnings and revenue for the quarter are expected to be $1.26 per share and $1.40 billion respectively. A year earlier, the company earned $1.23 per share on revenues of $1.37 billion. On Tuesday, the company's shares closed regular trading at $77.55. (The stock rose around 27% in Q1; MA(50)- $86.80; MA(100)- $82.93; 52-wk H/L $93.06/$51.15)

Additionally, NetApp, Inc. (NTAP), Semtech Corp. (SMTC), Synopsys Inc. (SNPS), Apollo Investment Corp. (AINV), Big Lots Inc. (BIG), Eaton Vance Corp. (EV), Genesco Inc. (GCO), Hormel Foods Corp. (HRL), Suntech Power Holdings Co. Ltd. (STP), Sycamore Networks Inc. (SCMR) and Trina Solar Ltd. (TSL) will report their results today.

The Bank of Japan on Wednesday decided to keep its ultra-loose monetary policy unchanged, as expected, suggesting that the bank is moving cautiously amid concerns over the recent turmoil in the bond market. The policy board said the bank will conduct money market operations so that the monetary base will increase at an annual pace of about JPY 60-70 trillion. Confidence among Australian consumers declined sharply in May to its lowest level since August 2012, driven largely by negative responses to the Federal Budget, a survey by Westpac and Melbourne Institute showed Wednesday. The index of consumer sentiment fell 7 percent in May to 97.6 from 104.9 in April. This is the lowest reading since August 2012. Data-storage products maker NetApp Inc. said Tuesday after the markets closed that its fourth quarter profit fell 4% from last year, hurt mainly by higher operating expenses even as revenue grew slightly. However, the company's quarterly earnings per share, excluding items, came in above analysts' expectations, but its quarterly revenue fell short of analysts' forecast.
