Japan is on Friday scheduled to release April figures for its consumer price index, highlighting an otherwise light day for Asia-Pacific economic activity.

Overall nationwide CPI is expected to come in at 0.4 percent, easing from 0.5 percent in March, while core inflation is expected to ease to 0.1 percent from 0.2 percent in the previous month.

Tokyo inflation, considered a leading indicator for the nationwide trend, is expected to remain unchanged at -0.3 percent, with core CPI also holding steady at -0.5 percent.

Singapore will release April figures for industrial production; output was up 2.7 percent on month and down 3.4 percent on year in March.
