Flowers Foods Inc. (FLO: Quote) reported first quarter EPS of $0.28 Thursday morning, down from $0.30 in the prior year. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.28. Full year 2012 EPS is expected to increase between 3.5% and 8.0% over the 2011 adjusted EPS of $0.96.
Flowers Foods has been rising steadily since the open Thursday and is now up 1.18 at $20.77. The stock has broken out of a range and has set a 3-week high. Flowers Foods has also re-crossed its 50-day moving average.
