Jill Scott was featured on the latest edition of VH1 Storytellers this week. Jill's special aired on May 21 and found the Philly native backed by a 15-piece orchestra at New York' Hammerstein Ballroom.
"Tonight it's gonna be a little sexy, a little funny, a little classy, a little moving. This is the way I tell stories," Jill said to open the night.
One of the many tracks performed on the evening was "Gettin' in the Way," and Scott kicked off the track playing out the scenario that inspired the track. She mimicked a woman calling another man's girlfriend to lie and say he is cheating:
"It's just a matter of time," she says. "It's a lie but it don't even matter, because he's supposed to be my man. He was born to be my man. That's the way it's gonna be. He's my man!"
