The euro staged a sharp fall against the U.S. dollar, pound and the yen at about 8:30 am ET Friday.
The euro is now trading near a 2-year low of 1.2508 against the greenback, compared to an early high of 1.2603.
Against the pound, the euro reached an 8-day low of 0.7991 from a 2-day high of 0.8048 hit at 4:35 am ET.
Presently, the euro is trading at 99.54 against the yen, down from an early European session's 2-day high of 100.35.
