European Economics Preview: Italy's Business Confidence Data Due

No major statistical reports are due on Monday other than Italy's business sentiment survey results with most of the European markets closed for the Whit Monday holiday.

At 3.00 am ET, the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic is slated to release producer price figures for April. Producer price inflation remained unchanged at 2.6 percent on a yearly basis in March.

Statistics Sweden is scheduled to release retail sales data at 3.30 am ET. Retail sales are forecast to fall 0.4 percent month-on-month in April after rising 0.2 percent in March.

In the meantime, Swedish trade balance for April is due. The trade surplus dropped to SEK4.8 billion in March from SEK6.2 billion in February.

At 4.00 am ET, Italy's business confidence survey data is due from the statistical office Istat. Economists forecast business sentiment to fall to 89.1 in May from 89.5 in April.
