Singapore's export prices decreased from last year in April, after rising in the previous month, data released by Statistics Singapore showed Tuesday.
The export price index decreased 0.8 percent on an annual basis in April, reversing the previous month's 0.5 percent growth.
Export prices of oil products were higher by 1.9 percent compared to last year, while prices of non-oil products fell 1.6 percent. Prices of manufactured products fell by 6.7 percent during the month, while food prices edged up 0.7 percent, data showed.
On a monthly basis, export prices decreased 0.6 percent in April, following the previous month's 0.6 percent increase.
At the same time, the import price index increased 0.6 percent year-on-year in April, markedly slower than the 2.3 percent growth seen in March. Month-on-month, import prices decreased 1.3 percent in April, reversing the previous month's 1 percent increase.
