The Japanese yen edged up against major currencies in New York mid-day deals on Tuesday. At 11:45 am ET, the yen climbed to new multi-month highs of 82.51 against the Swiss franc, 99.06 versus the euro and 124.05 against the British pound from previous session's lows of 83.19, 99.96 and 125.01, respectively.
The Japanese currency also gained against other major rivals and hit new multi-day highs of 77.37 against the Canadian dollar, 60.31 versus the NZ dollar and 77.90 versus the Australian dollar by about 11:45 am ET.
