Canada is set to release its current account data for the first quarter at 8:30 am ET. Analysts forecast a C$10.9 billion current account deficit in the quarter.
The Canadian dollar drifted lower against its major opponents ahead of the report. As of 8:25 am ET, the loonie was trading at 1.2770 against the euro, 1.0292 against the greenback and 76.55 against the yen.
