Robert Pattinson has shot down rumors that he is in consideration for a role in the sequel to "The Hunger Games." Speaking with USAToday.com, the "Twilight" star said that he first heard the rumor through the media and had confirmed that it was false with his agents.

"I was kind of curious for a second. So I called my agent," Pattinson, 26, tells USA Today. "My agent was like, 'No.' (My agent) was like no one's going to offer you that part . . . I was like, thanks for the reassurance."

Rumors spread across the web that Pattinson was up for the role of former "Hunger Games" champion Finnick Odair. It seems some fans were not so keen on the rumor, however, as the hash tag #PattinsonisnotFinnick trended on Twitter earlier this week.

Finnick Odair is described as a handsome, physically strong character with blonde hair, which may have ruled Pattinson out of the running. Other actors rumored for the role include Daniel Newman, Zac Efron, Jesse Williams and Chace Crawford.
