The British Invasion themed season of "America's Next Top Model" ended with the crowning of a U.K. citizen, Sophie Sumner, as the season winner.
Sumner defeated American Laura LaFrate in the first season of "Top Model" to feature British and American citizens.
During the final episode Sumner recorded dialogue for a Cover Girl commercial while LaFrate shot an ad for the makeup line. After she finished, LaFrate was rushed to the hospital where she quickly recovered from a panic attack.
Sumner took home a spread in Italian Vogue, a Cover Girl cosmetics contract, the opportunity to record a single and a chance to land a modeling contract.
Meanwhile, long time co-stars J. Alexander, Jay Manuel and Nigel Barker were informed their contracts would not be renewed after this season.
