Toby Keith held his 9th Annual Toby Keith & Friends Golf Classic in Oklahoma City. The event helped raise $664,000 to help build the OK Kids Korral, a residence for families whose children are receiving treatment at the Oklahoma University Medical Center Children's Hospital.
Keith was on hand at the groundbreaking ceremony, which took place before the auction, golfing and dinner, where he spoke on the importance of the initiative:
"In my job, you get to go to a lot of places and see a lot of things, but there's not much in my world that's more gratifying or important than helping these families. Turning dirt on this project is a big moment for me and a lot of other people who've been a part of making it happen."
The 2012 event outperformed the 2011 event, which raised $650,000.
